Jesus Hernandez Ms. Lehmann English 2-2A 4 October 2019 My First Experience in Mexico
This story is about the first time I went to Mexico last year. I always wanted to go to Mexico, and last year was the year I was finally going to go. I wasn’t planning to go, but my cousins always go every year in December, and they were always asking me to go, so I made the decision to go and see what it was like. On the 26thof November, I made my way to my cousin’s house to purchase our plane tickets. My hands started to get sweaty, and my heart started to pound faster because I realized that I was really going to Mexico. I just needed to wait until the 23rd of December to leave. December 23rd came around, and I was ready to go, I went to my cousin’s house at 5:30 am so we could load up our luggage in the truck. We left the house at 6 to make our way to Boise to catch our flight. Our flight was at 8:30 am, and we arrived at the airport at 7:50.We turned in our luggage so it can would be on the plane. I was scared to go through security because I didn’t know what would happen if I set off the detectors. We went through security and went to our waiting room for our plane. Our plane was ready to go, so we showed our tickets and boarded. The flight attendants were going over the rules, but I didn’t hear because I had my headphones on. The plane started to move, and I was kind of scared,I'm not going to lie. We had a 30-minuteflight to Salt Lake, Utah, then an 8-hour flight to Mexico City. When we landed in Mexico City, it still felt like I was in the United States because it's nice in Mexico City. We had to wait 11 hours for our next flight to Morelia. I felt sick once I got to Mexico, so I took an 8-hour nap. Before I took my nap, I took off my hat and I put it right next to me.My family went to go get snacks at the 7-11 store. I woke up from my nap, they were still at the store. I tried to find my hat,but it wasn’t there. When my family came back, I asked them if they grabbed my hat, they said no. It was time to get on our next flight. We arrived at my hometown in Mexico at 7:30 pm. My other cousin was already there, and he came to pick us up. We had a ten-minute drive to reach the city where I'm from. I was so excited to see familythat I had never seen in my life. When we started to drive, all. I did was look outside of the window and see how people live in Mexico and the homes they lived in. First, we went to my grandma's house to see her.We stayed there for an hour or two, and then we headed to my uncle's house to see him. When we arrived at his house, he was in the back, chopping chicken’s heads off. He has a store, so he raises chickens to sell them to the customers. After I met all my family in Mexico, we went down to the city and grabbed something to eat. I thought Mexican food in America was good, but it doesn’t even compare to the food in Mexico. Then, I went to the house we have over there, and I laid in my bed thinking I'm happy I'm over here. I learned that flying isn't easy it so hard knowing where to go when it's your first time flying. I learned the town where I was from and the things, they do to make a living over there. I learned there are things you shouldn't say over there, too.
